We collect different information depending on how you use ValuQ.

If you are a homeowner requesting valuations:

  • Postcode sector (e.g. SW1A 2)
  • Property details: type, size, condition, features, age
  • Photos of your property
  • Seller context: whether you are ready to sell, preferred timeline, desired price range
  • Your email address (to send valuations)
  • Only when you choose to connect: your full name, phone number, email, and full property address

If you are an estate agent:

  • Agency name and contact details
  • Your name, email, and phone
  • Agency credentials and regulatory information
  • Postcode sectors you cover
  • Your valuations, fees, and services
  • Login details (encrypted)
  • Usage data: how often you check leads, response times, acceptance rates

From everyone:

  • Device and browser information
  • IP address
  • Pages visited and time spent
  • Referring site

2. Why we collect it

  • To match homeowners with relevant local agents (based on postcode sector, not personal identity)
  • To provide valuations and allow you to compare them
  • To enable connection only when you choose
  • To prevent fraud and abuse
  • To understand how the platform is used and improve it
  • To communicate with you about your requests, responses, or account
  • To comply with UK law (tax, anti-money laundering, consumer protection)

3. How we use your data

For homeowners:

Phase 1: While you submit

Your postcode sector, property details, and photos are shared with estate agents in your area. Your name, email, and full address remain hidden.

Phase 2: While agents respond

Agents see the property brief and submit their valuations, fees, and services. Your personal details remain completely private.

Phase 3: When you connect

If you choose to connect with an agent, we share your full name, phone, email, and address with that agent only. No other agents see your details.

For estate agents:

We use your data to:

  • Send you property briefs in your coverage areas
  • Display your valuations to sellers for comparison
  • Show you analytics on your response rates and performance
  • Help you manage your team and track leads
  • Comply with regulatory obligations

4. Who sees your data

We never sell your data. We share it only in specific, limited ways:

See your property brief (type, size, condition, photos) but not your personal details—until you choose to connect.

See your full name, contact details, and address. No other agents see this.

ValuQ operates in the UK and processes data in the UK. If we partner with service providers outside the UK, we ensure they meet UK GDPR standards through Data Processing Agreements.
